Men’s Technology Ministry

Atonement is in the formative stages of a new service ministry team designed to help with technology. The area of need is not in Barrington initially, but with the Community Room at Holy Family Lutheran Church in Chicago. They have computers for a number of after-school programs, and these are the only computers available for many of these kids outside of school. Over time these computers get plagued with the usual nuisances that make them unusable. Here’s where small team(s) of men come to help. Monthly checkups will ensure these computers are available for those who need them.

From Pastor Infelt at Holy Family: “There is no question that the effort is worthy. Not only is the lab used constantly by our children, but Heartland Alliance, which does the social services for our community including those in scattered site housing, uses our lab almost daily. A stronger lab could even attract broader use.”

Sound & Visual Technicians Needed

Our AV Ministry team is seeking individuals or teams to help out approximately 1 time every 4-6 weeks at either the 8:00 or 9:15 service.  Teens must be at least a junior in high school.  This takes minimal training and is simply pushing some buttons at the right time. This ministry is vital to our Sunday Worship services and is a great opportunity to serve in our church community behind the scenes while you are already at church. Call Andy Seagren at andyseagren@sbcglobal.net or (847) 277-1138.

Serving is Simple! Assisting Ministers Needed!

What is an Assisting Minister?  An assisting minister helps the Pastors by reading selected verses from the Bible, praying for the concerns of the church and/or assisting with communion.  All is given to you in advance to practice and review. Do I have the qualifications to do this ministry?  Are your spiritual gifts…Reading aloud, praying for people or special concerns in our world, or serving the sacraments of God’s body and blood?  These gifts are helpful but no special qualifications are needed…just a heart to serve.  What is the time commitment? Serving is approximately once per month or three times per quarter.  How do I volunteer?  Call Terri Votanek @ 312-835-8641 or email @ Terri.Votanek@comcast.net with any questions or to express your interest.
