Fellowship Ministry
Mary Hasse, Fellowship Chair

The Fellowship board provides opportunities for groups to gather in fellowship.  This helps strengthen our faith and welcomes others into our congregation.

Board Chair: Mary Hasse
Members: Laurie Badovinac, Linda Henderickson, Doris Gierlach, Kathie Kline

  • Church Women United.   This is a national movement of Christian women gathering in the Barrington area three times each year for fellowship and service and to express the ecumenical dimension of their faith and work.

  • Congregational Picnic.   The entire congregation is invited to meet at Langendorf Park in Barrington for a worship service and a picnic after the service.  Games, contests, swimming, sharing of food and lots of good fun are part of the day.  This occurs on a Sunday late in August.

  • Easter Breakfast.  Breakfast is provided for all worshippers on Easter morning after the first service and until the last service starts.  Sign up is helpful.

      • Food Committee.  These people determine and make arrangements for food that is to be served and how it will be prepared.
      • Set up.  This group sets up and decorates tables and eating space in the Fellowship Hall.
      • Servers.  These people are on hand throughout the serving time (working in shifts) making sure food is hot and available.  Servers also re-set tables as needed.
      • Clean up.  Clean up begins as soon as the first people have finished eating and continues on until the breakfast is over.  People work in shifts (everyone gets a chance to be at worship).  Dishes are cleared and washed in our wonderful dishwasher that does a load in 45 seconds.  At the end of the serving time, all left over food is removed from the area and decorations are cleared.  If you are not cooking Easter dinner at home, this is a great opportunity for you to serve.

  • Exercise Class.  Women's exercise classes in Fellowship Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m.

  • Fellowship Bridge.   Friendly bridge games with Atonement couples and singles are enjoyed on the third Friday of each month in  members' homes  There is no obligation to play every month.  Players usually bring snacks for the evening.

  • Funeral Hospitality.  The Fellowship Board coordinates the serving of food to friends and relatives at the time of a funeral service at church.  If you are willing to bring food and/or serve at the meal please contact the church office.

  • Progressive Dinner.  This is an annual event where participants eat at three homes all with different people providing them with an opportunity to meet and visit with many people in the congregation.  The first home is appetizers, second home is main course and third home is dessert.
