- College Ministry. Send notes and packages to those away from home during transition periods and holidays.
- Lights! Camera! Action! is a Wednesday program for young people from pre-school through high school. It begins at 4:00 and is over at 7:15pm. It starts in September and runs until March. There are four parts to the program, Bible study, worship skills (training for assisting regularly at worship), recreation, and supper. Everyone participates in all four parts. Many volunteer opportunities are available:
- Bible Study Teacher. A teacher is needed for each grade level 1st through 5th. Teachers are present every Wednesday to teach for a 45 minute class period. Depending on the grade level, classes may be scheduled to begin 4:00, 4:45 or 5:30. Teaching material is provided. Each Bible Study teacher would like a helper that would assist in the classroom. This might include advance preparation for a project that goes with the lesson, or just being a friend who will help students during the class period.
- Recreation. There are several kinds of recreation including outdoor play, crafts, active indoor games, or table games. Sometimes adults teach more involved crafting skills to students. Adults are needed to supervise all aspects of the recreation period. Depending upon the age level, recreation time may be at 4:45 or 5:30. Men who are available during the scheduled hours are especially welcome.
- Worship Skills. Children learn about the liturgy of the worship service and are trained to participate in it. This usually means singing, but can also include dramatic portrayal of lessons for Sunday mornings, or other creative movements and activities which enhance the worship service. Children are grouped in grade levels of: 1-2, 3-5, and middle school (6-8). Depending on the grade level, worship skills may be scheduled at 4:00 or 4:45. Instrumentalists (guitar, piano, percussion etc.) are often needed to assist in the worship skills section of Logos.
- Supper. Supper is served every evening at 6:15 and is over at 7:15.
- Clean up. The clean up crew begins work as the tables are being cleared (around 6:45) and stays until the kitchen is back in order (it takes about an hour or less). We have a wonderful commercial dishwasher that does a load in 45 seconds. Clean up people usually work once or twice a month, although some faithful folks are there every week. Many times cooks are asked to help with clean up.
- Cooks. Most cooks serve once a month on the same cook team. They arrive around 4:00 to prepare the meal and stay until after dinner is served. Some cooks serve every week.
- Dinner Dean. This person acts as emcee for the evening. He/she plans games, which can be played at each table, or an entertainment involving everyone in the room. There is an announced theme for each evening so games etc. can be planned around that. This person sees that food is served; tables cleared, cooks thanked, and maintains order during the evening. The emcee usually dresses to fit the theme for the evening.
- Laundry. We use cloth table coverings which need to be laundered every week and returned to the church before 4:00 the next Wednesday. If cloths are taken immediately from the dryer, they do not need to be ironed.
- Nursery. Babysitting services, enabling parents the opportunity to attend worship services and other activities.
- Small Group Ministry. Contained within the JAM sessions (Jesus and me).
- Youth Group - Middle School. Special projects, outings and parties complement the educational aspect of confirmation with fun and fellowship.
- Youth Group - High School (a.k.a. JAM or Jesus and Me). This groups meets every Wednesday from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Outings, events and projects, fostering fellowship and Christian faith. Leadership Lab is held each year. A week at the Lab is for high school students who have completed 9th grade. The lab helps build Christian leadership through large and small group Bible studies and assemblies.
